The plan, which received unanimous approval from city council on June 12, 2024, underscores the importance of urban greenery in protecting vulnerable communities from rising temperatures.Councillors Christine Boyle and Adrienne Carr, who put forward the motion, emphasized that this initiative was a key campaign promise of Mayor Ken Sim in 2022.
